Michelle Kail

Meet Michelle Kail, our Executive Director! Michelle has worked with CASA of the Heartland since 2023.

A native of Clarksville, Tennessee, Michelle holds a B.S. in English from Austin Peay State University and an M.A. in English from Western Kentucky University. She began her career as a teacher at Meade County High School and then worked as a consultant for CASA of South Central Kentucky, ultimately leading to her current position.

“The best part of my job is seeing the success stories of children finding permanency,” said Michelle, “whether that's reuniting with their families, getting adopted, or working toward independence.”

She also loves getting to know each CASA volunteer - the strong, compassionate, caring adults who are a consistent presence in the lives of abused and neglected children for whom they advocate in the court system.

Michelle resides in Elizabethtown with her husband, a Lieutenant at Elizabethtown Fire Department, and their 5-year-old daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys visiting the lake, listening to audiobooks, and knitting.
