Larry Hoh

Meet Larry Hoh, our Assistant Advocate Coordinator! Larry has worked with CASA in various roles since 2018, including volunteer and consultant positions.

Larry learned about CASA from the News Enterprise when the nonprofit was established in Hardin County, and he added volunteering to his list of potential things to do after retirement. Following 38 years with the Social Security Administration, including ten as an instructor and computer software expert, that’s exactly what he did!

In his CASA experience, Larry admits that meeting with children for the first time can be a little awkward, since they don’t know him, his intentions, or his purpose.

“When I establish that envelope of trust with a child, it is rewarding to see how they respond to an independent adult whose sole focus is on the child’s success,” said Larry.

He defines the ultimate reward, though, as achieving the best possible outcome for the child. Larry also encourages anyone considering becoming a CASA to take that next step.

“A child needs you,” he said. “You can make a positive difference in a child's life.”

Larry is married with two adult children, one grandchild, and one kin-grandchild. His hobbies include camping, fishing, and backyard astronomy.
