Elizabeth Kail

Elizabeth Kail became an Advocate Recruiter for CASA of the Heartland in 2025, but she’s been an active volunteer since 2022.

Being part of CASA allows Elizabeth to share her passion for advocating for the most vulnerable kids in our community. She admits that, yes, the experience can be scary at first and does require a major commitment; but, she emphasizes that it is worth it.

“Through time, patience and consistency, a CASA really does make a difference,” she said.

“You have the best staff to help and support you,” Elizabeth added. “And if you ever experienced fear, hunger, abuse, abandonment, isolation, or instability as a child, you can understand how these children need that one person to speak up for them.”

A Hardin County native, Elizabeth attended nursing school at Western Kentucky University and married her husband, William. As a military family, they traveled away from the area but came back to retire in 2021.

They have two sons, Andrew and Thomas; two daughter-in-laws, Maggie and Michelle; and three grandchildren, Lillian, Everett and Eleanor.

Following a 30-year career as a nurse, Elizabeth works for Hardin County Schools. As an instructional assistant, she sees the need for CASA advocates on a daily basis.
