CASA of the Heartland announces 2025 impact and expansion into Hart County

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. – CASA of the Heartland recently announced its regional growth of 2025, including the expansion of services that now formally reach Hart County, effective January 1. The organization previously served Hardin, LaRue, Grayson, Meade, and Breckinridge counties, including the Fort Knox community, and will now extend its advocacy to children and families within the Hart County Family Court system.

Hart County is not new to CASA services; it was previously served under the CASA of South Central Kentucky network, which is now expanding further south in the state. CASA of the Heartland’s expansion ensures uninterrupted advocacy for children and strengthens regional support for families navigating the child welfare system.

In 2025, CASA of the Heartland continued to see increased need across its service area. The program served 312 children, trained 38 new volunteers, and deepened partnerships with courts, social workers, and community stakeholders to ensure every child’s voice is heard in court. This year’s impact reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to meeting growing demands for best-interest advocacy throughout the region.

“Every child deserves safety, stability, and someone in their corner,” said CASA of the Heartland Executive Director Michelle Kail. “Our expansion into Hart County, paired with the impact we’ve seen this year, reinforces our commitment to ensuring more children have access to trained, compassionate advocates. We look forward to building strong partnerships in Hart County and continuing our mission of protecting and empowering children who need us most.”

CASA of the Heartland was founded in Hardin County in 2007 to recruit, train, and support community volunteers who advocate for abused, neglected, and dependent children under Family Court jurisdiction. The program expanded to LaRue County in 2023 and to Grayson, Meade, and Breckinridge counties in 2024. With the addition of Hart County, CASA of the Heartland now serves six counties across the region.
