Elizabethtown, Ky. -- CASA of the Heartland has announced the addition of four new members to their Board of Directors. New board members include Human Resources Consultant Myra Covault, Customer Relations Manager at Brandenburg Communications Shane Witt, retired Certified Professional Accountant Faye Dowell and Human Resources Generalist at Swope Family of Dealerships Stephanie Brown.
“Our additional board members bring new insight and further the representation of the five counties that we serve,” said CASA of the Heartland Executive Director Michelle Kail. “We are excited to welcome them to our organization as they serve in this capacity.”
Raised in a military family, Myra Covault settled in Rineyville in 1981 before earning her degree from the University of Kentucky. With over two decades of leadership in healthcare operations and HR, she built a career marked by adaptability and service. In addition to her service with CASA, Covault currently serves as Board Chair for Friends of Hardin County Animal Shelter (FOHCAS), where she advocates for the care and adoption of homeless pets.
"I worked at a children's hospital for nine years in Milwaukee and saw firsthand the impact that people can make in a child's life–one small act at a time,” Covault said. “It's why I do what I do with FOHCAS and it's what I hope to do through CASA."
As Customer Relations Manager at Brandenburg Communications, Shane Witt is dedicated to delivering top-tier service and building lasting connections throughout the community. A proud community supporter, Witt stays actively involved in the Meade County community by attending local events and championing community growth and connection.
“I wanted to serve as a CASA board member because too many children are in desperate need of a helping hand to create a positive change in their lives,” Witt said. “I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to contribute and make a difference where it’s needed the most.”
A lifelong resident of Breckinridge County, Faye Dowell recently retired from a distinguished career as a CPA in the banking industry. Now, Dowell continues to serve her community as a board trustee for Breckinridge Health Inc., helping support local healthcare and community well-being.
“I believe it’s important to be involved in my local community and serving as a CASA board member allows me the opportunity to help get the word out about the mission of CASA,” said Dowell. “Every child needs someone in their corner—this organization provides that important service.”
Stephanie Brown is an experienced Human Resources professional with a background in HR operations, talent acquisition, and employee engagement. She currently serves as HR Generalist at Swope Family of Dealerships, bringing a people-first approach to workforce strategy and organizational development. Previously, Brown worked in Accounting for the dealership before moving into an HR role.
"At Swope Family of Dealerships, building strong community relationships and giving back are at the heart of our mission," said Brown. "I'm honored to serve CASA in this role and proud to continue that mission through meaningful service."
