CASA of the Heartland receives $85,000 donation from Give 270 raffle proceeds

As the beneficiary of a recent raffle series, CASA of the Heartland received an end-of-year donation of $85,000 from Elizabethtown-based nonprofit Give 270.

“We were hopeful that this raffle would help us generate funds for CASA, but we were blown away by the generosity of the community and Give 270,” said CASA of the Heartland Executive Director Michelle Kail. “This donation will allow us to continue growing our organization to advocate for even more children in Hardin and LaRue counties.”

CASA of the Heartland will use the donation funds to help recruit additional volunteers and continue to support current volunteers who advocate for the most vulnerable children in the community. CASA volunteers serve as court appointed advocates for children navigating foster care and the family court systems. The organization relies on community support and partnerships to accomplish their mission each year.

The donation was made possible through proceeds from a Whiskey Wednesdays online raffle series called Pappy Palooza hosted by Give 270 during the fourth quarter of 2023.

“We are proud to partner with CASA of the Heartland and help support the important work they do,” said Eric Clemens, Board Chair for Give 270. “We know this donation will help improve the lives of children in our community.”
