CASA of the Heartland is set to host the first-ever “CASA Cup of Tea” fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Tunnel Hill Baptist Church.
This will be a tea party-style event where individuals and businesses will have the opportunity to decorate tables in their favorite theme while helping abused and neglected children in our community at the same time. The themes can include seasons or holidays, characters, movies, businesses or tea-time elegance.
Attendees at each table will have the opportunity to be recognized in the categories of Most Elegant, Most Original and Best Use of Theme. There will be awards given for both individual and business groups. Attendees will be able to decorate their tables from 3 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, or from 8 to 11 a.m. on the day of the event.
Items needed to adorn the tables will include a centerpiece and decorations, along with a place setting for seven that will include a plate, tea cup/saucer or mug, water glass, fork and spoon. CASA of the Heartland will provide white tablecloths and white napkins.

Tickets are $40 per person and all proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit CASA of the Heartland’s mission to recruit, train and support a network of volunteers, who are court-appointed to act as advocates for abused and neglected children under the protection of the Hardin County Family Court. Reservations with payment must be made by Oct. 7.
“We want attendees to relax with some great food and tea and enjoy fellowship with others in our community. Many of us have china sitting in a cabinet or holiday arrangements that don’t get much use; this event is a chance to get those out and share them with others, while most importantly supporting the wellbeing of children. We will also decorate for those who want to attend and enjoy the tea and the event without decorating,” CASA of the Heartland Executive Director Norma Hatfield said.
In addition to enjoying an afternoon of tea, attendees also will be able to participate in a silent auction consisting of items donated by local businesses and homemakers.
Sponsorship opportunities also are available for the event. A title sponsorship, set at $5,000 or more, entitles a business to a two-page advertisement with the business’s logo included in the event program, two Facebook Live segments on CASA of the Heartland’s Facebook page, recognition during Hatfield’s speech at the event, business handouts provided to event attendees and mentions in press releases and advertisements. The Green Tea sponsorship level, set at $1,000 to $4,999, entitles businesses to a full-page advertisement with the business’s logo included in the event program, a Facebook Live on CASA of the Heartland’s Facebook page and recognition during Hatfield’s speech.
The Tea Party sponsorship level, set at $500 to $999, entitles businesses to a medium advertisement with the business’s logo in the event program, while the Tea Cup sponsorship level, set at $500 and under, entitles businesses to a small advertisement with the business’s logo in the program.
