As we near the end of 2017 and reflect upon the year, I am humbled and overwhelmed at the passionate and giving spirit of those in our community. Your advocacy has helped so many children that would not have otherwise known what it’s like to have someone in their corner. This year you have been a part of giving peace to a child whose young life has been a tumultuous series of placements, a steady stream of new faces, new homes, and new schools.
With your help as an advocate, more than 90% of CASA children never have to reenter the child welfare system. It has been an historic year for CASA of the Heartland, with 62 active advocates and 33 new advocates trained! You have truly impacted the lives of our community’s most vulnerable children. We are grateful for each and every one of you, and look forward to serving alongside you in 2018, to give every child possible an advocate in the courtroom.
For those that were unable to advocate but have given financially to the CASA program, you have impacted the lives of 132 children this year! Without your support we would not have had been able to recruit and train new advocates to serve this many children.
Thank you for believing in the CASA mission and for generously supporting our efforts to help give children a better future! We look forward to continue partnering with you in 2018!
From the entire CASA Staff, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
-Debbie Smith, Executive Director
